Attica Groups Next Plans



Attica Group plans to strengthen its position in the Aegean and the Adriatic seas. Attica, which is the parent company of the Superfast and Blue Star ferries, is controlled by Marfin Investment Group.

Next Saturday, Blue Star 1 will sail for the last time from Rosyth, Scotland, to Zeebrugge, Belgium. The vessel will subsequently travel to Piraeus, where it will pass its annual inspection and will then be deployed in the Dodecannese, linking Kos and Rodos and possibly Patmos and Leros.

Besides, Superfast will receive its newest vessel, “Superfast 1” from Italian shipyards where it is being built. The vessel can carry 170 lorries or 1,200 cars and 900 passengers and will sail serve the Patras-Igoumenitsa-Bari line. Two ferries, “Blue Horizon” and “SuperFast” currently serve the same line.A second vessel is currently under construction in Italy.

Superfast Ferries could use one of its vessels in the Aegean, depending on the market and competition.
