Highest Bidder In Thessaloniki Port Tender Expected To Pay 2 Bn



The highest bidder in the tender for the concession of Thessaloniki ports container terminal is expected to be awarded the concession against 2 billion euro to be paid throughout the concession period, or 400 million in net present value.


Sources in the shipping industry say that the bidders take into account Thessalonikis privileged position, which is close to the Balkan markets which will absorb a big part of the goods transported through the container terminal.

At the same time, the management of Thessaloniki Port Authority examines the objections filed by the tender participants. The process is expected to be completed by July 20 if no appeals are filed.

After that, Thessaloniki Port Authority will proceed with the second phase of the tender by opening the technical and financial bids.

Bids have been submitted by Dubai Ports World, through its subsidiary & in cooperation with Aktor Concessions SA and Piraeus Bank, by Cosco Pacific LTD and Hutchison, jointly with Alapis and LYD.
