OPAP approves Intralot contract

OPAPs EGM approved on Saturday the proposed central system contract between OPAP and Intralot. Interestingly, the Privatisation Agency (HRADF) decided to adopt a “neutral” stance, abstaining from voting for or against.

With a letter to the OPAP board, the HRADF pointed out that it was not in a position to evaluate the terms of the proposed contract given the lack of knowledge of certain critical technical and economic aspects. It also suggested that the evaluation of the contract fell under the responsibility of OPAP’s BoD which the HRADF continues to support.

It is also worth pointing out that the HRADF participated in the procedure with a 3.13% stake (out of its total 33%), namely just about enough for the required quorum to be met. It is yet to be seen when this contract will be signed and what the stance of the interested investors will be, particularly that of Emma Delta and Gauselmann/Playtech that have reportedly threatened with legal action.

The participating consortia need to be finalised by 10th April with the deadline for the binding bids remaining 17th April, to the best of our knowledge.
