The government has implemented the human loss management plan and all victims are being transferred to the morgue in Goudi to identify them.

All the dead have so far been found in the area between Rafina and Nea Makri, especially in Mati and Kokkino Limanaki, where they were trapped by the flames in homes and cars or drowned in their attempt to escape from the sea.

According to information, the injured have risen to 156, of which 11 are intubated in hospitals.

"Another 26 charred bodies were found in Argyra Akti, Mati, close to Nea Makri," Rafina-Pikermi mayor Evangelos Bournous said to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA) on Tuesday.

"There is a pile of 26 bodies, just 15 meters from the sea. Police forces have blocked the area. These people must have tried to find a way out into the sea but they were likely trapped in the flames," the Athens-Macedonian News Agencys photographer Pantelis Saitas said.
